In the middle of the Tyrrhenian Sea, Ischia is full of beaches, bays and coves of rare beauty
San Montano beach
With its crescent shape recalling tropical countries, San Montano is the most famous beach of the island. Located in Lacco Ameno town, it is especially suitable for children for its shallow water. In the same bay the wonderful “Negombo” Hydrothermal Park is located.
Located in Forio d’Ischia, the beach of Chiaia has soft and clear sand.
The beach of Cava is the only free beach of the island, it extends up to 500 meters and with its deep water it is an ideal place for swimming lovers. You can even take a break in a bar-restaurant nearby.
Citara beach lies at the foot of Mount Epomeo, in the city of Forio d’Ischia. Beyond the clear water and the soft sand, it offers a lot of services such as beach resorts, bars and restaurants, which make it very popular especially for families and teenagers.
The Maronti Beach, almost three kilometers long, is the largest beach of the island. Its main feature is the presence of caves from which the thermal water comes together with the dark sand. It’s a very fine white-colored sand beach but also very windy because of the thermal wind.
